Understanding your 3 Basic Business Models
(i) Build:
To construct your own brewing or distilling facilities from
scratch. This allows you to customise your kit and processes to
deliver the standards and uniqueness that you want to create
for your business and brand opportunity. We will focus on this
area in particular for the purposes of this guide as it requires
the most amount of planning and resource.
(ii) Buy:
To purchase liquid from secondary sources and bring it to
market under your own label. This can also be referred to as
‘Contract Brewing or Distilling’ and it requires that you align
with the right quality supplier of liquid for your business and
brand.
(iii) Invest:
To align with the right business and management team setting
up in the drinks sector in Ireland and provide investment funds
to them to start up their business model and brand in return for
an equity stake in their business going forward.
