Finding & developing the right talent
Finding great staf – A key priority for you should be inding, training & upskilling the right
people for your key functions. Using your own personal network should be your irst instinct.
Professional bodies, such as the Marketing Institute of Ireland or the Irish Management
Institute (MDs / FDs) or the Chartered Institute of Accountants, also provide a pool to
draw from. It’s advisable to talk with principals in other start-ups for their experiences in
the sector, they can be contacted through their associations such as the Irish Whiskey
Association or the Irish Brewers Association which is operated as part of ABFI (Alcohol
Beverage Federation of Ireland) or the Irish Craft Beer Association of Ireland or the
Institute of Brewing and Distilling. While the latter is a UK based organisation, many Irish
brewers travel to this renowned institute for training in master brewing:
