ROADMAP

STAGE 1

h) Business Plan

Your business plan is now the summation of all that you’ve covered across the topics in Stage 1
of this guide. It’s crucial that you articulate your vision for the business.

A business plan is map at your company’s future in the context of the opportunity. At this
point, we’ve looked at the key elements that make up your business plan – market research and
context, size of prize, branding, high performance teams, route to market for your products, your
business model type and your funding & inancial requirements. You’re now ready to create your
business plan.

Before writing your plan, you should consider the following questions to
help focus your thoughts:

• How long should your plan be – be brief and to the point as much as possible

• Who needs to see your business plan – who is your audience and what are their motivations?

• Have you determined your business vision, goals and objectives?

• Have you a clear outline of your funding needs – from launch to steady state years?

• Plan what you’ll do with it when it’s completed – who to engage with, where & when?
