Agency Supports

There are many supports and services for individuals and entrepreneurs looking to start a
drinks business in Ireland. We have provided a brief summary of state agencies, legal and
regulatory bodies to sources of consumer and market research.

Initial Information, Assistance and Advice for Entrepreneurs:

Citizens Information: Starting a Business in Ireland

State Agencies:
Local Enterprise Oice (LEO) for advice, mentoring, business plans and training programmes
tailored to start-up businesses.

Enterprise Ireland encourages and supports high potential start-up businesses (HPSUs). The
main criteria for HPSUs are >10 employees, already exporting or planning to within a short
period of time and turnover in excess of €1m. Please see the ‘Resourcing your business’ section
for guidance.

Teagasc ofers training courses aimed at strengthening in-company capabilities in quality
systems, food & drink safety and hygiene, food & drink technology and product development
and marketing.
